IsoCours
Teachers using computers in their classroom to present their courses (video, images, presentation,...) use an USB key in which the various multimedia documents are half filled away.
But this involves two problems:
• How to find the right document quickly, in order not to waste time in front of the pupils,
• What’s happening when the USB key is corrupted or lost ? Is there any backup ?
IsoCours application intends to reverse this way of working:
• All documents are located inside personal computer (using its own backup system)
• IsoCours allows to prepare courses with this computer, by looking for documents using keywords and categories, and to export on USB key only courses of the day, sorted by class. IsoCours even allows to directly present documents using a simple interface, if you use computer in classroom.
IsoCours is an application dedicated to teachers allowing them to manage the documents they have to present during course.
IsoCours allows amongst other things:
• To store the documents in a specific tree structure,
• To classify the documents by keywords, and level,
• To prepare the documents that will be presented in class,
• To present to a class the selected documents
Compatibility - minimum configuration
IsoCours requires Mountain Lion (10.8) or Mavericks (10.9), or Yosemite (10.10).
It does not consume many RAM and can thus function with 2 Go of RAM, but if you execute many applications at the same time (for example word processing + spreadsheet + slide presentation software + multimedia player software) you will need more RAM.
Its need disk space is moderate:
• IsoCours program itself needs 70 Mo
• A database for 1 600 files use 46 Mb of disk space (example value, disk space need varies according to files, keywords, classes number).
Warning : This need of disk space only relates to the application and its database; you will need more disk space to store the files themselves, which will increase considerably the need of disk space according to the type of stored documents (video for example).
Languages available: IsoCours is available in French and English.
IsoCours is now available in the Mac AppStore
